Nibiru merupakan nama seorang ahli astrologi Babylon yang kadangkala dikaitkan dengan "god Marduk". Nibiru muncul dalam watak minor dalam puisi orang Babylon iaitu Enuma Elish seperti yang tercatat dalam perpustakaan Assurbanipal, Raja Assyria (668-627 BCE).

Maksudnya di sini, orang Sumeria purba mempunyai tamadun yang hebat pada zaman purba. Tamadun mereka merupakan sebuah tamadun yang penting dalam asas pembangunan pertanian, pengurusan air, dan yang paling penting ialah dalam penulisan. Ini bermakna tamadun orang Sumeria pada zaman tersebut sangat maju berbanding tamadun lain.
